About Our Founder
Kat Geller (VanS.) is a multiple award-winning Casting Director and Executive Producer with over 20 years of experience. By combining an eye for talent and an advanced knowledge of production logistics (ie, legal, budgeting, and post), Kat has created exclusive workflows that cast talent on smaller budgets, tighter timelines, and without sacrificing quality.
In order to stay updated on the legal landscape of casting and production, Kat routinely completes Continuing Legal Education courses, including the recent USC & Beverly Hills Bar Association’s course “Talent Agreements and the new SAG-AFTRA rules and State Laws Governing AI-Generation.”
Kat has been the go-to Casting Director for casting niche experts, “needle in a haystack” real people, A-List celebrities, influencers and creators, and more. She has partnered with Fortune 500 brands including Honda, Chase, Google, Wells Fargo, and P&G, leading advertising agencies, top-tier production companies, and with networks and film studios including Netflix, Disney+, NBCUNI, FOX, Discovery Networks, HBO and more. Across every project, Kat’s objective remained the same: find and select the talent that can deliver authentic, moving stories while strengthening brand affinity, building content that leads to returning audiences, and delivering measurable results that exceed expectations and KPIs.
Recently, Kat led the industry into the “wild west” of AI digital replica casting, serving as the Casting Director on a SAG-AFTRA AI commercial campaign for a global automotive brand.
AI Commercial Casting: How We’re Leading The Way and Redefining Casting
When AI commercial production was still finding its footing, we were already building the infrastructure for it.
For a global automotive brand’s AI union commercial campaign utilizing SAG-AFTRA actors’ digital replicas, we developed the end-to-end casting and compliance workflow from scratch. We cast 19 principal actors, 50 hand-picked extras, managed cast across six productions, drafted original contract language including the new required SAG-AFTRA digital replica agreements, traditional performer documentation, and oversaw adherence to protocols for hiring minors. There was no existing playbook, so we built it ourselves.
How? We’re not just a casting team with an eye for talent, we’re also producers with backgrounds in drafting and executing contracts, overseeing compliance, creating workflows for budgets of all sizes, and wearing many hats, from Line Producer to Post Production Supervisors. We also have established relationships directly with talent, with agencies of all sizes, and relationships inside SAG-AFTRA to confirm complete union compliance for productions spearheaded by union signatories.
We continue to complete advanced legal education courses, including AI provisions and state laws governing AI generation so when compliance questions surface mid-production, we're already in the conversation.
How We Work
We don't hand off a cast and disappear. We function as a production partner, sitting at the intersection of talent, Business Affairs, Legal, and production to keep projects moving and keep problems from surfacing late.
That means anticipating union, compliance, and documentation needs before they become your problem on set.
The Bottom Line
Whatever the type of production, or the story that's told, we know it's the casting that determines whether audiences are truly compelled by it.
